Just about set up for the #parl2010 politics and social media event at Edelman -- we're streaming live and blogging at
bit.ly
RT @timcallington: 71% of MP staff have learned about a policy issue from the Internet or social media according to #parl2010 research
Jo Swinson of Lib Dems and Nadine Dorries for Conservatives are on the #parl2010 panel but Labour's Kerry Mcarthy held up by vote in House
#parl2010 Nadine Dorries says blogs and twitter are nudging politicians towards the idea that the electorate wants a lot more information
#parl2010 Nadine Dorries says started blogging to share what goes on in Parliament with electorate. Also uses it now to rebut untruths
RT @timcallington: @nadinedorriesmp saysblog allows her constituents to come in to parliament with her in way they couldn't before #parl2010
RT @markpack: Good point from @joswinson-live tweeting PMQs makes her pay more attention to what said rather than being distraction#parl2010
Kerry Mcarthy, Labour's blogging tsar, now joined the #parl2010 panel
Apparently @sarahbrown10 can't get @tweetdeck on her computer. How does she keep up with the whirl?! #parl2010
Kerry Mcarthy says she was late selection for Bristol East and few there knew what she was like. Found Twitter less dry than using website
RT @robertbrook: twitter isn't a good thing or a bad thing. it's just a thing. #parl2010 <- spot on as always
#parl2010 this is good but we need to hear from the audience
Far more labour mps on Twitter than other parties. More tweeting in areas where smaller chance of being elected #parl2010
To do BBC TV on old media RT @kcorrick: #parl2010 was sitting next to @guidofawkes but he's just left he seat ... where has he gone?
Wondering when the first MP will get shafted over Twitter and whether love will still be in the air then? #parl2010
Questions from the floor: Should civil servants be allowed to blog/tweet? Will the law of diminishing returns set in as more MPs start tweeting? Can you convert people via Twitter to vote for you?

What makes panel think that party hqs won't start following tweets more closely? Is social media inherently freer or freer cos new? #parl2010
surprised it took this long for the daft Twitter stereotype to come out re no 'normal people are on Twitter' - @nadinedorriesmp #parl2010
AND did @nadinedorriesmp suggest the panel were early adopters? No offence but - no, you're not #parl2010
Seems to be no consensus on the panel over whether the unit of Twitter is a 'twitter' or a 'tweet' nor whether one who uses Twitter should be referred to as a 'tweeter' or a 'twitterer'
by reutersgr8db8 at 11/4/2009 7:46:54 PM
RT @TmLiveEvents: Dorries: "Twitter gives me greater exposure to journalist than constituents... don't see why public servants should tweet"
RT @kcorrick: #parl2010 @joswinson - each MP does it differently, and find ways to communicate w/ constituents. Prob may be volume in time.
Let's not forget - @ashtonkutcher is more influential than all of Parliament put together #parl2010
RT @jemimah_knight: Journalists as catalysts taking MP tweets to msm. gate keeping #parl2010 <- 1day we'll tire of x was said ON TWITTER!!
That's all folks -- thanks for joining us.

Just been introduced as the Telegraph's photo lady. I like that title, think I might keep it :)
Totally incapable of leaving interesting chat and fun people in the sexy Edelman offices. Top evening #parl2010
Catching up with the football results: amazing Inter 2-1 win in Kiev with both goals in last 5 mins. Fiorentina win to KO Liverpool.
Something bothering me. Fox was dragged around by Cameron all day. Photo op on the tube for the Guardian (yeah tube). Briefing on EU. Why?
Barnet Council to publish all spend over £500 on website
