I have a reputation for being ... um, well ... brutal
(Thomas does stuff for EVERYONE. Trust me)
First gig was for Mad Magazine
I love to draw Hilary Clinton ... I don't know what it is!
Hilary, Pelosi ... If I get to draw them I'm in!
This is the cool thing about God, he'll give you gifts that just won't go away!
My pride was big as a first grader ... God has given me a gift very early on to give him glory.
Around 8th grade I got into drugs ... Drawing goes away ... I become consumed in drugs.
I had a bad trip on a hallucinogen and I lost myself for about a year. I forgot how to live.
When my dad would see my drawings he would cry (with joy)
He told me, basically, "You're going to school."
Then I got the news that my dad was killed in a robbery
At this point my life is just rocked and overwhelmed with darkness.
Dad was working in a bar to pay for my schooling and he was closing down the bar ... Someone came in and stabbed him and robbed the bar and he died.
At this point workmans comp pays for my schooling and so I go and finish and go get a job....
I got back into drugs and things started to get really dark ....
I had a tweaker friend who got radically saved and then he handed me a Bible and turned on Chuck Swindoll
But I said, "Jesus if you're real, I want you!"
I was drunk and high in a park one night and I run into Jews for Jesus ... I was praying this whole time, "Jesus I want to be born again...."
Where does that come from but the Holy Spirit?
I had the dirtiest mouth before I was a believer.
I was delivered from cursing while I was cursing! I was like, "Whoa!"
Met my wife shortly after in NYC and then we had kids and had some issues with the church...
Then we got into a great church where they taught about God.
Art is joy. It's tragic.
If you can Twitter you can at least have a quiet time for five minutes!
I got to a point where I said, "Jesus I just want to see more of you!"
I am the proudest person I know. (That's not good.)
I'm a proud man seeking humility.
