Los felicito por esta alternativa vinculante de llamado de atención a los lideres del mundo. Y que dejen de pensar por un momento en armamentismo y arrogancia .
by eduardo galavis at 9/21/2009 2:41:37 AM

There were only a handful of us up on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge @ 6.30 this morning on a coolish Canberra morning, but we are all committed, & ringing our pollies today!

Proteger el medio ambiente es salud y prolongación de la vida.Estamos a tiempo de parar la destrucción del planeta. Comencemos ahora, hoy mismo.
I rang Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. The parliamentary switch put me straight through to a very polite speaker, who said she would pass on my request that the PM sign a fair, ambitious, and binding climate treaty. The woman who answered my call at Climate Change Minister Penny Wong said that she would take a message, because the Minister's office is being inundated with calls at the moment. She took my message, as stated by Avaaz. The bloke at Resources and Energy was a bit abrupt, politely saying that he would add my name to "the list", which, yes, was about Avaaz' request.

Just did it. The secretary taking the calls once she heard I was part of the Global Wakeup call, finished off what I was going to say. She's obviously getting a few calls!

Phoned Kevin Rudds office left a message to say that he must go to Copenhagen in December and to promote Fair Ambitious and Binding treaties

Hello everyone, I just called the minister for climate change, Penny Wong (australia)--she answered the call, which was a bit surprising and I relayed our message. I don't think I was the only person to ring her as she seemed to understand what this was about and said okay she'd pass on the message. It's lunch time here in Australia, so people might start jamming the phones now that they're out of the office. Hopefully, more people will ring and jam the phones, because i had no trouble getting through which means things aren't exactly hotting up yet. But I was pleased I managed to speak to Ms Wong, who was polite and professional, but didn't elaborate--just said okay, thanks, cordially.

Called all three NZ numbers – had to insist on my name being taken in each case - palpable sense of impatience at the other end - let's do it every day!

Called the Prime Ministers office and requested that he go to Copenhagen in December and that he stand for a fair ambitious and binding deal on climate change

Called Kevin Rudd, got put straight through to his office. I did not think to insist my name was taken down, the person just said "thank you, I'll pass that on". Definitely impatient. KEEP IT UP! :)
