Looking forward to tonight's show. Will there be backsplash from the Late Late?
Special report on troubled kids that died in care of overdoses
The Irish Times' report on David Foley's death and the silence from the department of children when asked why the report into his death has never been published.
www.irishtimes.com
And there it is - the key issue is that it is always crisis management and not actually looking after the welfare of kids
A mere 11 died from 'untowards' causes, according the the HSE talking head. A trifle.
I wonder what the actual medical causes of the other deaths were. 'Medical causes' is far too broad an excuse for my liking
Remember, the children turfed out of the hostels where they've been put at 9.30am every day are notionally being 'cared for' by the HSE, on behalf of the state.
That social worker should not be doing that interview - speaks volumes about her practice - the handwringing!
HSE man tells us there are day programmes for the children thrown out of hostels every morning if only they'd use them. His second comment appearing to blame the children for their own fate.
Day programmes??? What about bloody school!
So one of the reasons that you fail is that the children have difficult backgrounds, is that right Mr. HSE man?
HSE man's challenge is to continually strive? Has he eaten a business buzzword bingo card?
I'm not looking forward to having to listen to Barry Andrews wet-dishragging over the screen after the emotions this report provokes.
I kind of wish that Miriam was interviewing Barry Andrews & Mark Little was doing the Cowen interview. Miriam can be a little easy on leaders and is brilliant on childrens issues
Ta-Da! The Minister makes the line explicit It is the children's own fault for dying.
This. is. driving. me. mad. with. rage.
blames children again, blames HSE
Barry Andrews has no empathy. None whatsoever
This is an exciting time for Child Protection?! I don't want it to be exciting! I want it to be tediously reliable.
exciting time eh Minister? what would make it more exciting? More deaths?
Under current poll figures Barry Andrews will lose his seat at the next election. It cannot happen fast enough.
In a FF nation, nobody must ever be held accountable.
It sets a bad example.
Lodgings? speechless...
The reports are the window for the public. Then he passes the buck to the HSE.
When Brian Cowen thought it was a good idea to follow that segment, I can only presume he had suffered a recent blow to the head.
Double Jeopardy - could refer to his second national TV interview in a week never mind Lisbon 2
I don't understand his refusal to accept the possibility of defeat. After all, he's already lost it once.
Same referendum, but, but with a different package! Killer opener!
Cowen is back, Back, BACK!
Oh. No. Still woejeous.
Hair cut.
Bald Spot Cam to cut to when he gets a bit waffly to distract us.
Apart from the Commissioner argument, all the same arguments are being made against the treaty
Yes Brian, the best way to fight for your party is to show how it never bothered to introduce anything progressive so we had to rely on Europe
Look, cards on the table time. Its going to be a yes from me this time. It was, just, barely a yes from me last time. But for the love of all that is Euro, how in the world do they think that this mental goop is going to change people's mind?
We should trust Brian Cowen because its a national issue. Great reason. Arg
Taoiseach, you stink like rotting carcase. How do you think anyone wants to trust you, or indeed to be downwind from you?
Oh my god, that is the weakest answer ever about his position post referendum
