Jeremy speaks well, but half the government are not switched on yet, bit of spin creeping in
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 8:57:42 AM
Collaborative individualism is huge issue. Its the management of this which is difficult given the scale of interactivity and connectivity technologies which are required. Large scale needs large databases and issues of data protection. State control could creep in...bound to maybe?

Typical minister. spin.
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:09:41 AM
most ministers have no idea of the potential of the internet, he should be telling them not us
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:13:19 AM

Jeremy totally avoided Anne's question about universal access to broadband, so I am repeating it here on the blog... What about the 3 million homes and businesses who can't join the technological revolution? There is a growing digital divide between the haves and the have nots in this country!
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:21:52 AM
I like cctv. It's calming.
by Drood7/6/2009 9:23:42 AM
btw, there was constant murmering on the webcast all through the last session. Where's that coming from?
by OrangeJon7/6/2009 9:26:52 AM
hope they get live stream into the mountbatten room for 11.30 fibrecamp
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:27:12 AM
Great anecdote about debating climate change with his father. Shows political inclusion isn't about faster broadband. (digitalbritain pls note)
by socialtechno7/6/2009 9:28:52 AM
In my view, there is no antagonism between political inclusion and open access - they are the same.

via billt “It’s fifty years since CP Snow’s famous lecture on the Two Cultures – science and literature. We seem to have a different divide these days, between ‘people like us’ and the rest. What might be done about this?”
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:34:14 AM
Am I supposed to be laughing? I believe there should be an automatic ban on anyone using the phrase "going forward". No excuses. Oh, did you write a book? You hadn't mentioned - remind us of it's name!
by Jonathan7/6/2009 9:37:38 AM
quaisi pockets, no joined up thinking in banks... average bank working in individual silos

by kazwccsocialnet7/6/2009 9:53:30 AM
main way the internet can benefit is by implementing joined up thinking
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:54:11 AM
need to disperse internet fear
by kazwccsocialnet7/6/2009 9:55:08 AM
not always internet fear, more internet frustration due to losing connection, windoze issues, not easy for new entrants unless they are young!
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 9:55:55 AM
To understand the benefits of the internet, you have to have experience with the internet. It is difficult to explain the color blue to a blind person.
by spoxx7/6/2009 10:00:25 AM
absolutely - you need to experience to get excited and realise what you personally can get out of the experience
by kazwccsocialnet7/6/2009 10:01:34 AM
excellent
by kazwccsocialnet7/6/2009 10:01:54 AM
worth dealing with bad guys - not many - to get to the good guys and engage
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 10:06:10 AM
this is a fantastice example of the need for collaboration
by kazwccsocialnet7/6/2009 10:10:29 AM
bottom up, from inside, nudge, talk, work together, joined up thinking, great Craig!
by cyberdoyle7/6/2009 10:13:54 AM
not only capture moments, but add to these moments as an organic history
by Kwame Oh7/6/2009 10:14:09 AM
Craig's speech is ending with key points!
