everything ok now?
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:07:19 AM
A-OK!
by bradbretz at 6/1/2009 4:07:54 AM
So far so good!
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:07:54 AM
OK well I know it's late for you Mauricio - so we'll start the interview.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:08:21 AM
It's actually 6AM for Craig right now - he might be asleep still. ;)
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:08:33 AM
No problem!
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:08:41 AM
Alright - we're joined now by Xbox MVP Mauricio Alegretti from Brazil. Mauricio runs the hugely popular PortalXbox.com.br.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:09:47 AM
Thanks for joining us! - Mauricio, what is your gamertag by the way?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:10:16 AM
Oh thanks for the hugely :) My gamertag is malegrettipxb
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:10:38 AM
Awesome - well E3 is starting in just a few short hours. There are a number of gaming conventions held each year.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:11:39 AM
There is Leipzig, the Tokyo Game Show, Game Developer's Conference, and of course, E3.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:12:07 AM
Which convention are Brazilian gamers most excited for?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:12:25 AM
E3, for sure. We pay very close attention to the US gaming market...
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:13:10 AM
There's a great number of brazilian journalists that go to E3 each year
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:13:32 AM
Is there any in particular that Brazilian gamers look for in E3 coverage?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:14:10 AM
You mean, any website or media?
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:14:51 AM
Any type of media.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:15:12 AM
Well, most brazilians follow the conferences by streaming from places like Gametrailers, Gamespot or IGN. And there's a number of brazilian websites that are very important here, like UOL games
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:16:17 AM
I'm sure you've heard the rumors swirling around Xbox's E3 offerings. What rumors do you hope are true?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:16:52 AM
And there's the community websites, like ours, that tend to focus on particular platforms or interests. We hope that many people read our Xbox specific coverage this year!
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:17:12 AM
Well, I would be personally glad if we really see the new motion-based controller, and possibly a new MGS
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:17:48 AM
MGS meaning Metal Gear Solid?
by bradbretz at 6/1/2009 4:18:14 AM
The announcements that are US-specific, like Sky TV, really don't catch our attention that much. Like Netflix, last year
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:18:38 AM
Which rumors do you hope are NOT true?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:18:52 AM
Yep, Metal Gear
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:18:55 AM
Haha, good question, you caught me on that! :) Well, I'd really like to see a totally different design for the PSP Go, the one that is being shown is very... weird!
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:20:18 AM
I totally agree with that! A lack of analog sticks is disappointing.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:20:50 AM
What are the top wishes of Brazilian Xbox gamers for E3 this year? What MEGATON announcement are Brazilian gamers hoping for?c
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:21:29 AM
I don't know, seems to me that the analog on this one is even more unconfortable that on the previous offering... really doesn't make sense
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:21:32 AM
Well, I think very little games could have that "megaton" effect attached to them. Anyway, here in Brazil we really like the Gears of War and Forza series, so I think any new title on both of them would be great for us. And of course, if Microsoft announces an expansion on Xbox Live countries, and that includes all... it would be a Megaton Plus!
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:23:55 AM
LOL@Vitor
by bradbretz at 6/1/2009 4:25:02 AM
I definitely would love to see Xbox Live come to Brazil. There are so many passionate gamers there!
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:25:07 AM
I agree, bring Xbox Live to Brazil NOW!!!
by bradbretz at 6/1/2009 4:25:50 AM
Couldn't agree more, @brad
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:26:04 AM
Will you be watching the MS Press conference live, and if so, how will you be watching it?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:26:27 AM
Unfortunately, I couldn't make to E3 to see the conference in person, but other Portalxbox administrator (DocAraxa) will be there, twitting every move. So I'll be right here, following his comments and watching a video stream. Hope they don't get too crowded this year...
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:28:24 AM
@DeathAngel yes, I think MS needs a new franchise... and not one that is only for casual gamers, but for us hardcores
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:29:39 AM
@Death Angel: New titles always bring excitement and fun to a system. I think we'll see some huge new franchises announced by Xbox this year, maybe even TWO new franchises. Gonna be an interesting E3.
by bradbretz at 6/1/2009 4:29:47 AM
The Xbox Press Conference is held at the Galen Center at USC this year. It's a HUGE venue, a place where college basketball games are played. It seems MS is planning something really big.
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:29:52 AM
@ace and there is all that talk from Major and E about the importance of the tickets and announcements...
by malegretti at 6/1/2009 4:30:47 AM
How would you like to see Avatars used in expanded ways?
by aceattorney at 6/1/2009 4:31:04 AM
