You measure a church not by it's seating capacity but by its send capacity
Nothing grows over night except cancer
The test of your ministry is not how big it gets but how does it last
The only way to be constantly relevant is to be eternal
If we do it the way Jesus did it we will get the same kind of results
You cannot surrender the agenda of your church to small thinking whiners
Failure is good! It's the only way you learn what doesn't work
God is not going to let go of you
We all love the spring time of ministry and yet winter is just as important. Growth is seasonal!
Everything God does in us, to us, through us is by Grace
Focus on building people and God will build the church
Seminary doesn't teach us how to build people
Before you can minister you must be tested
You can only lead out of what you are. God does not bless techniques. He blesses people with a heart to be used
The one thing God will not use is a dirty vessel
Some of the brightest leaders minds of this generation have used all of the energy attacking other christians instead of furthering the kingdom

If you do the Jesus model of ministry you will be criticized ruthlessly
Sometimes your doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing as you are heading into a dessert
When God calls you to lead he will give you the People, The Opportunities, the Abilities and the Resources. Satan will tempt you to misuse all of them
Before you can do real ministry you have to know what is really in you
The Lust of the flesh is the temptation feel. The lust of the eyes is the temptation to have. The pride of life is the temptation to be.
Satan will never tempt us to be like him
He tempts us to be Narcissists
We have an amazing ability to lie to ourselves
When someone response to concerns say "aw it's nothing" its all ready something
I'd rather go over board than be thrown overboard
Maturity is the ability to endure pain and to delay pleasure
Babies have no patience
Be more excited about the growth inside your soul than the growth of your church
If you are a young leader you need godly mentors
You will never not need a coach
Jesus first temptation was to use his abilities for selfish reasons
God didn't give your abilities to be comfortable
Jesus second part of the firsttemptation was to not wait on God
God does not send the angels till after the test
The praise and popularity test was Jesus second test
God is not your genie
The temptation will be to do the right thing at the wrong time
The temptation to impress will tempt you to move ahead of God
The Jesus way is not to do the spectacular it is to do the sacrificial
Loving a crowd is not the loving people!
Jesus third temptation was about "I see and I want it now"
It's about love
The antidote to Materialism is Giving
If you are going to learn how to be like Jesus you are going to have to learn to be generous
Pray every day for Integrity, Humility, and generosity
Integrity is being exactly the same with my family as I am with my church
A hole in the boat is a hole in the boat no matter where the hole is
If you segment your life you are in need of repentance
The number one goal of a pastor is not to grow a church it is to be like Jesus
You cannot change the world with laws
Humility is the antidote to the pride of life
Humility is not denying your strengths it is being honest about your weaknesses
Humility at its essence is dependence upon God
Not once in scripture does it say to pray for humility it say to humble yourself. Humility is a choice.
You will know how humble you are when people treat you like a slave
