Hi, this is Dave from FormBet...welcome to the LiveBlog from Newmarket on 2000 Guineas day. Feel free to comment, share any tips etc
Cheers m8 - u2
Market movers today are Casual Conquest in the 2:30, clipped into odds-on in some places for the Jockey Club stakes. Also in the 4:20 Infiraad has shortened to as low as evens in some places but in the same race a bit of cash for Firebet with the sponsors from 8/1 into 5/1
Covering the early 'steamers' in each race so far (note...these are not my tips ;-) -:
2:00 King Charles
2:30 Casual Conquest
3:10 Delegator
3:45 Borderlescott
4:20 Infiraad
4:55 Sopranist
5:30 Ave
My top-3 on the ratings for the 2pm race. Think I will go for FLIPANDO 7/1...Barron is bang in form with a near 30% strike-rate the last few week and Spencer is riding well enough.
Doesn't figure very high on my ratings Dean
Interested to see how the jockey rides though given his exploits in Dubai
Ezdiyaad was thought to be a classic horse as a juvenile, ran down the field at the Greenham on soft ground and interesting he is being backed in from 14/1 into 10/1
Think I will throw in EZDIYAAD at 10/1...always worth going for a horse in the top-3 on the ratings if it is being supported, so throw that one in along with FLIPANDO at 7/1...both each-way
First on the board for Stoute
He didn't give Flipando the best of chances did he
That is a positive for my trends pick EVASIVE in the Guineas
Stoute is really hitting form
I am soo glad I am not on Delegator ;-)
I'm sticking with EVASIVE who is a trends-pick and LORD SHANAKIL who I think is massive value and I have top-rated based on his Dewhurst run. However, I'm also worried about the O'Brien pair, especially Mastercraftsman who is already a dual GP1 winner and 2nd on my ratings...fascinating Guineas though, wide-open.
King Supreme could be a bit of value in the next at Goodwood
Money was on the ball there at Goodwood...11/4 into 7/4
2:30 at Newmarket...think SPANISH MOON is the 'value' against the favourite, Stoute is clearly in good heart , just beaten in Dubai and will love the ground
Casual Conquest goes well fresh though and his Derby form is clearly respected so only small stakes for me on the Stoute runner
Agree James - but is he value at 10/11 ?
I'll be backing SPANISH MOON despite his playing up at the start...want to see him get out the gate before getting on though
Looks like it's the fav there then
Not worth a bet
35p
Bronze Cannon might be the best option ;-)
I'm going with a small bet on the Gosden runner
3-runner races can throw up surpriszes
Yes
lol
10's in-running :-O
fav hit 1.04
Don't think Delegator will like this ground too much
So who is everyone on in the Guineas then ?
