On 149 bus down to the action, no rowdiness yet
Doing a final crash course in twitter before heading off to tweet #G20 protests for Guardian. Why have I only just discovered hash tags?!
On 76 to Moorgate - such a beautiful day for it.
Sunny H: why do protests have to start in the morning dammit? Why? :-(
Ft headline: 'London on standby for outpouring of fury over capitalism', could be interesting
Scanning cupboards... What is appropriate lefty protest food? Snickers can substitute for flapjacks, right?
Sunny h: oh whoops, only #g20 related tweets allowed as I'm doing this for the guardian today. #dnotice which pt of town you at?
Sunny h: can I start by saying I'm quite annoyed that all this week the Met have been scare-mongering abt these protests with abandon.
cyclist demo at liverpool street station holding up the traffic and playing reggae
Sunny h: @
Rowenna_Davis don't you know snickers are made by some evil capitalist Corp (cadburys?) - what kind of a lefty are you? :)
Sunny h: and to add insult to injury, most of the press have run with the Met's scaremongering without any balance! Incl the Guardian!
Sunny h: it's a nice day to string up some bankers today... Hope it doesn't rain like sat. And I'm starving :( maybe I'll eat banker flesh
oops must put lock on phone
Sunny h: I was just kidding by the way... I'm vegetarian. I've heard @
rowenna_davis can be quite brutal tho.
Sunny h: #g20 on the train heading to the environmental camp at Liverpool st. Wonder if brendan o neill will turn up to sneer.
All v normal. Roads all clear around old street and even spied a fair few suits walking to work.
monument station more reggae and bikes (might be the same lot), bemused builders and bankers watching them
more and more white people with dreds, nearly at destination methinks

Joining the silver march from London bridge on finance. Great the left has decided to embrace consumer choice and offer a range of protests. ;-)
chilling with billy bragg and his flatcap at cannon st now, also an old women in a wolf mask calling david cameron a junkie, fun times
Arrived at Moorgate. 200 or so protesters but so many journalists and photographers. Mood v relaxed.
probably about 300 people so far and a man in a kilt with bagpipes hates capitalism
Few youngsters stop and searched by police. Red horse is on the move.
Sunny h: @

Sunny: going underground... Radio silence for a bit
Sunny h: couldn't resist wearing my Obama tshirt even though I'm protesting against #g20 - well, I worked on his campaign so I'm allowed!

Picture via Rowenna. She says - "I don't know if you can read the 'smash capitalism' sign, but it's a good place to get a banner - right opposite the mayor's office"

the march is off now, not sure this was the route the police ok'ed
March gaining pace and people... More exciting now. The anti capitalist chants have began: "we say fight back"!
Sunny h: oh Jesus, hello to the flood of new subscribers. I feel like I have to say something useful now :-/
Got to london bridge tube and can't find a single protestor. Has the march failed or have I?
by Jessica_CIF at 4/1/2009 10:20:01 AM
I've failed. The nice man in the starbucks kiosk told me to look round the corner.
