Welcome to the March 3rd edition of #carchat
I'm Derek Kreindler, filling in for Michael Banovsky, and I'll be joined by Dave Thomas of www.stanceiseverything.com aka @PerfectStance
Where is everybody?
It's still early ;)
It's not that early.
Yawn
It's a little early
Actually I don't think I've been in here this early
Anyway what's up everyone as Derek said I am Dave Thomas from Stanceiseverything.com helping fill in for Michael Banovsky with Derek
Bit early
I haven't either, but that's usually 'cause my boss is normally here. =P
Hey Dave.
Howdy, before everyone gets here thought I would let you guys know if you are wondering why it's pulling an old twitter pic you have to change your avatar via the scribble live settings it only pulls from twitter initally
Hey all, hows the carchat crew goin?
This is the only avatar I've ever had on Twitter.
@mavric35 Doing pretty well, you?
@xxiinophobia yeah not too shabby thanks, busy but thats nothing new!
I'm keeping the avatar here, doing well @mavric35
Ya Derek ping me
@Foxy Tuner Hello girl.
@realmudmonster good to hear mate
And @Pinkgineer, lols. :P
So what are we talking about today?
@Foxy Tuner :-P
For me, form follows function.... Just like my biology professor taught us. ;)
It has to work but also look good.
neither form nor functionable, as shown in the pic
How bout it guys and gals ;)
I have no problem with modified cars.... so long as its done right!
@mavric35 Done right as in mechanically sound or done right as in what improves the performance?
Everybody do their homework? Dave just posted an example of a "stanced" car. Dave, want to explain to the world what stance is all about?
Function over form personally.
If you decide to put an Ironing board as a rear wing, you have problems
This is the only homework I could want to do, haha. Miata pic loading, perfectly functionable, not so lovely in the stance department supposedly.
@PerfectStance well if its mechanically sound it *should* improve the performance also, the two go hand in hand
Form = Function, simple
I have been told many many many times my Miata is too tall.
@Foxytuner your car is a "proper" track ride height but for some people it's still a 4x4.
Basically, stance right now is all about getting your car as low as possible
@Foxy Tuner no too tall would be to put truck tires on the miata
