per DGIF: Parents and older eaglets deposit their waste (go to the bathroom) out of the nest...you'll see them at the rim to take care of business

HH, the 2009 eaglet, was fitted with a satellite transmitter by Center for Conservation Biology. For tracking purposes they named her Azalea. You can ‘adopt’ Azalea by going to this site:

Danni, yes the eaglet was fed for the first time this morning. I believe its first meal was tiny bits of fish.

tristan: This nest is about 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep. The pocket where the eggs are laying is lined with pine straw and feathers and about 1 foot deep. It is estimated to weight approximately 800 pounds.

sally: it is not possible to determine if this eaglet is male or female yet. Around 30 days after the first egg hatches, the eaglets will be measured when they are banded and that may help to determine the sex of the eaglets.
